Merry Christmas!
Yes...I know it's only September 1, but here in the Philippines, once you hit the "ber" months, everybody starts thinking of Christmas. When I woke up this morning to the morning show on TV, all their tv segments were for Christmas.
Anyway I always believe that Christmas brings out the goodness in people...unfortunately some people at home are just as nasty. I can't believe one of my aunts who lives with us and helps manage the household, she told our old cook last night that she will no longer be needed here (which isn't true)...anyway things did play out for the good because when I got down this morning to take my breakfast, I caught her just in time to tell her to stay and that I will be the one to pay for her wages. I mean how could a person be so inconsiderate, to think that she goes to church everyday, spends most of the time praying and listening to gospel songs and plus our cook has been with us for more than 15 years.
Well I shouldn't talk about that anymore, at least now "manang" (that's what we call an old lady here in the Philippines) is still here and she seems to be happy. Oh and I got an early Christmas present today, a new iPhone 3G! I wrote about it last week, anyway I also got a new phone number, I'm still keeping the old one for a few months then I'll decide what to do with it. So far I still can't use it because the line will only get activated after 24 hours. I went to the Globe business center this morning but the told me there seems to be no iPhone under my name there. I told them to check under my dad's name (my current line is under my dad's name) and they told me they can't seem to locate it in their inventory and asked if I went to the right business center. I told them that someone called me last week, Thursday that the phone was ready on Saturday and I told the girl that I'll pick it up on Monday (today) so I'm wondering why it's not there. Anyway they made me sign new agreement forms and asked me for all the supporting documents needed, which was a good thing since I brought everything with me. At first I was a bit irked but glad that I was able to keep my temper. I called the customer service hotline, and checked with them, they told me everything is in order from their end, and that the iPhone should be in the business center, so I kindly asked the girl on the line to give the business center a call so they could fix it.

I'm glad it did work out in the end, although I had to wait for about an hour to get my phone, I'm happy I got my temper in check. Oh and speaking of temper, I'm getting a bit upset with Hyatt again...nothing really serious, but all my stays this year with the Hyatt Hotel in Manila have problems with the crediting of points to my account. The last time it took them almost a month to resolve the matter and I even got an email from the "Executive Secretary of the GM" that the GM will discuss the matter with me upon his return. It's almost a month now with no word from the two of them or from anyone from the hotel. And now my stay last August 15th hasn't been credited yet. My stay in Singapore was credited in a matter of days (I checked out on a Sunday and got it in my account by Wednesday), so I can't seem to understand what's taking them so long. So now I don't know if I should just wait or send them another email? I also have the email for the Hyatt Corporate HQ I'm thinking if I should escalate the matter with them too. Well I really want to keep my temper in check this time...but it's quite frustrating.
P.S. I'd like to say hi to Mace, I know you're going through a tough time now...but I hope things work out.

Hey! Thanks for the sweet comment. We are good. I was right about what happened though. He finally admitted to it for the reasons I suspected (didn't want me to yell at him for drinking and driving)! We are all good now. Thanks so much. I am COMPLETELY jealous about your phone. I notice you didn't mention your MBP... For the readers: KC didn't want a new MBP UNTIL I told him I was getting one! :p :-) Miss you bro. You should come to Afghanistan!!!! LOL Cheers, see ya soon.

Hey Joel,
I still can't use my phone because my line has not yet been activated by the carrier. Anyway I enjoyed playing with my new toy last night.

Does Globe have 3G? I have the iPhone 3g (Black 16 GB) and love it...especially the data side. The phone isn't as great as I was expecting. I'm interested to hear your impressions of this phone once you get more into it.
Take care, Eddy
